Questions about dentures?
Unless you're getting implant dentures, installing dentures is non-invasive. During the first few days you may experience some discomfort as the dentures settle in and cause some friction. We adjust your dentures in a follow up appointment to do away with this issue.
Yes, in the first couple of weeks we recommend not eating hard food but after you get used to the dentures and they've been adjusted correctly, you can eat whatever you like. Sticky food can be an issue but removable dentures are easy to clean.
Your mouth changes shape over time and can cause loose fitting dentures. Hard chewing and denture damage can do the same. If your dentures aren't sitting quite right, we can reline them for a more comfortable fit. We recommend relines every 2 years.
Partial and complete dentures are removable. You can sleep with them in occasionally but most people will leave their dentures in cleaning solution to wake up to a fresh set
If you're missing multiple teeth, you're a candidate for dentures. Partial dentures are great for filling in multiple gaps without getting implants or bridges.
During your first denture consultation we'll inspect your mouth and take a mould of your teeth.
Your custom dentures are then manufactured to match your face structure and tooth shade. The dentures will then be installed in a follow up appointment.
In a second follow up appointment we will make adjustments to the dentures once they've settled in and you're good to go.
